Lead Paint Removal

The environmental dangers of lead first came to the fore in the late 1960's with the health effects associated with standard gasoline. Then in the 1970's the effects of lead based coatings upon children resulted in the 1978 legislation covering residential properties and schools etc.Then in the early 1990's the problems of lead based coatings were further addressed with OSHA regulations covering workers engaged in hot work to and demolition of structures. coated with lead.

Blasting and Painting

Within GCS we have many decades of successful experience of protective coatings particularly as it relates to the waste and water, power, institutional and commercial real estate, storage tanks, chemical plants, refineries, offshore and onshore oil and gas and the marine industries.

In addition to traditional blasting and painting processes GCS has preparation systems available which greatly reduce or even eliminate the need for containment but at the same time do not reduce productivity or compromise surface standards in the same way that other methods such as power tooling and UHP water blasting can.

The benefits of these systems are reduced overall cost, improved environmental conditions, reduction in associated shut down, less risk, longer coating lifetimes.
